CARDS TAKE GAME 4 WITH 13-2 ROUT, BUT PARKERS CLOSE DEAL WITH 5-3 WIN IN GAME 5
The season ended, first with fireworks, then a thud, as the Cardinals extended the Parkers to a deciding fifth game. A 9 run fourth, highlighted by back-to-back home runs by Aaron Carpenter and Tim Soldan, was the difference in game 4.
In the decisive game 5, the Cardinals could not solve Tony Powell and Mike Montano. A two-run blast by Jim Vick in the 6th made interesting, but Montano struck out the side in the 7th to give the Parkers their unbelievable 14th straight Pontiac championship.
Josh Kliewer homers for difference in game three win.
